A group of energetic, forward thinking teachers got in touch with me during the summer after viewing the Edutopia video.  They wanted access to my curriculum, as well as to consult with me throughout the year so they could continue to build students' character positively, specifically with "grit."  This dedicated, enthusiastic group has decided to schedule character ed with students for two sessions of "Blue Grit" thirty minutes per lesson.  We figured out how to videoconference (new and exciting for all of us), and have met a couple times to touch base, share ideas, and plan for the next month or so.  It has worked so well that I feel like I truly know this group of teachers and administrators even though they're in TX.  We've worked out the time difference, have shared quite a few laughs, and best of all, have all had a key role in helping some middle school students build some character they might not have on their own.  I always look forward to my virtual meetings with "the teachers from TX."
